Vision 2030 is an ambitious strategic plan launched by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 2016 that aims to achieve sustainable development in various fields. The vision is based on three main 

pillars:

Vision 2030 focuses on achieving several main goals, the most 

important of which are:

 1- Improving the quality of life of citizens

2- Environmental protection

 3- Promoting good governance

 

Strategic steps:

Vision 2030 includes many strategic steps to achieve sustainable 

development, including:

Investing in human capital means developing education and skills and enhancing women’s participation in the workforce. Diversifying the economy: by supporting non-oil sectors, such as tourism and renewable energy. Improving infrastructure: through developing transportation, energy, and water systems. Environmental protection: by combating climate change and preserving natural resources

Challenges facing Vision 2030 The vision faces many challenges, the most important of which are: Bureaucracy: Bureaucracy may delay the project implementation process.Corruption: Corruption may lead to wasting public money and hindering development .Lack of financial resources: Available financial resources may not be sufficient to implement all projects.Lack of awareness among citizens: Not all citizens may realize the importance of Vision 2030

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has made remarkable progress in implementing Vision 2030 over the past few years. For example:

The percentage of women’s participation in the labor force increased from 22% in 2016 to 33% in 2023.The unemployment rate decreased from 4.9% in 2016 to 4.0% in 2023.
